Unwed Sailor Pittsburgh Posters

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Last weekend I printed posters for Unwed Sailor‘s upcoming show at Pittsburgh’s Brillobox. These fellas have been good friends for quite some time, and I was thrilled to print these posters for them. They are a two color print (White and 6 to 1 Magenta) on French 100 Speckletone Kraft. I will be selling them at the show, and the remains in our online store after the show.

Say Ooh <3′s Three Bears <3′s Say Ooh

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

I recently worked up a company-to-company trade with my dear Nashville friend, Colleen, aka Say Ooh. She makes lovely hair accessories, as well as a few other fun things, all available for purchase on her Etsy. We worked up a Three Bears to Say Ooh trade via the USPS, and here’s what came as a result. We sent Collie one of our Ohio T-Shirts, for her to represent the midwest, down there in Tennessee (insert Southern Drawl). And in exchange she sent my girlfriend and I custom matching “Boyfriend and Girlfriend Rooster” hair-clips. Mine custom made distinctively to compliment the rat-tail I’ve been sporting lately. When checking out her website and Etsy Store, also be sure to also check out the Say Ooh Blog.

Five Giants Photography Studio

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

I just recently wrapped up this identity for Five Giants Studio. 5 Giants is a group of 5 photographers who all live in the Akron/Canton area in Ohio. They came together to form a photography studio, realizing that this is an uncommon thing in the Midwest.
Below are the two Brand Marks we created for them and one of the shots from their recent shoot with Inhale Exhale (also a client of ours.)

From Fathoms

Wednesday, March 11th, 2009

Here is the cover we created for the new Gifts From Enola album, “From Fathoms”. This record has been in the works for months. Every aspect of this came together as well as we could have asked for. The concept of the album is based around a poem that the band wrote, about waking yourself up, to pull yourself out of the darkest depths, and to come back above the surface. The band and label (Mylene Sheath) were wonderful to work with. The album will be released both as CD and Double 12″ Vinyl in a gatefold sleeve with special colored vinyl. In addition, they will both be a Stock Gloss, finished off with a Spot Strikethrough Matte.

Marie in Indianapolis’ Luna

Tuesday, March 10th, 2009

This past Saturday I went to Indianapolis to stay with some old friends and meet some new ones. The next morning (well, afternoon,) Joey and I went to Luna, an obligatory stop when in Indy, and in my list of favorite record stores. The first thing to do when walking into Luna is scanning their Staff Picks wall. And what do you know I found? Some of my own work surprised me. The latest Romance of Young Tigers release, “Marie,” has a very spectacular packaging. Released by Magic Bullet, Seth (the bands front member) recycled 500 already-printed digipaks left over at Magic Bullet. With some spray paint and hours of screen-printing, he saved them from going to waste. I did the non-handmade pieces of the album, the Disc-Face and the included stickers. It was a fun surprise to flip the CD over and see the Three Bears Design credit. The picture isn’t so great, it was on my camera phone. But I love Luna’s description of the album.
